Winner: Skyline Award (Best Influencer Marketing)

The Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists

ADCES example

Diabetes Education Through Influencer Marketing

An estimated one in 10 Americans – more people than ever before — have diabetes. The condition and its health-related complications can be serious and deadly if not managed properly. Diabetes care and education specialists (DCES) can help people living with diabetes develop a personalized plan for staying healthy, providing the tools and support to make that plan part of their lives. To increase awareness of the role of a DCES and encourage people living with diabetes to seek a referral to see one, the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES) and PCI engaged micro and macro influencers with niche audiences to post about the benefits of seeing a DCES and/or their personal experience working with one. The campaign also sought to leverage word-of-mouth referrals as one of the most effective forms of communication.

The campaign resulted in partnerships with six influencers, driving traffic to the landing page and exceeding industry benchmarks.

Getting McHenry County Youth Back in the Game: Get Vaxxed and No More Missing Out/ Váyase y no se lo pierda más

McHenry County wished to increase COVID-19 vaccine participation among youth aged 12-18, as well as those of Hispanic descent. To do so, the County and PCI strategized and launched a digital advertising campaign centered around parents of the preteens and teenagers and individuals who may identify as being of Hispanic heritage to increase awareness of vaccination availability and drive target audiences to the sign-up page on the County’s website.

The Facebook advertising campaign exceeded industry standards and during the period the campaign took place, vaccinations increased in McHenry County. The program served as a strong awareness campaign.

Cornerstones has helped neighbors in need in Virginia to overcome tough times in a high cost-of-living area for decades. In 2021, the organization celebrated their 50th anniversary and worked together with PCI to raise awareness of their mission and increase donations among current and new audiences through their social media channels leading up to the hybrid in-person/virtual event on September 30, 2021.

The campaign resulted in a 15% increase in engagement on all channels and increased web traffic to the Cornerstones website.

Winner: Award of Excellence (Community Relations)

Cradles to Crayons Chicago

C2C example

Helping Communities Donate to Fight Clothing Insecurity

Throughout 2021, Cradles to Crayons Chicago (C2C) hosted several initiatives to encourage families to donate their gently-used items. In 2021, PCI supported C2C with the goals of heightening visibility for various initiatives and increase understanding of clothing insecurity in Chicagoland by developing targeted media and digital strategies to saturate the local market. Outreach took place during COVID-19, a time of unpredictability for essential organizations like Cradles to Crayons, who rely on volunteerism to do their services.

Over 100 media placements were secured with the majority including key messaging and/or website links and many included a key spokesperson from C2C. The campaign achieved visibility in local communities to raise awareness of C2C Chicago’s fight against clothing insecurity.

Committing to Community Engagement

Village of Glenview and PCI created a community engagement plan to educating residents about the Village’s role and proactively share accurate and timely information about Village services, pending development reviews, special projects and initiatives, topical issues, potential hazards and emergencies, community events, and other priority subjects. The comprehensive plan ensures that Village residents receive the information they need, when they need it, via the channel that best suits them.

The completed plan guides the Village’s community engagement. As a result, engagement with residents was increased through the Village’s email newsletter, social media channels and website, and placements in local media announced the Village’s new strategic direction.
