Ramsey Carey

Ramsey Carey is a public relations professional with a background in media relations strategy for nonprofit cultural institutions.

In her role as Vice President, Ramsey oversees communications programs for nonprofit, business and government clients and to advance their marketing, communications and public relations initiatives to meet their business objectives. She has provided strategic communications support for a variety of Chicago-based and national cultural, educational and social service clients including AIDS Foundation Chicago, Charities Aid Foundation, Chicago’s First Lady Cruises, Cradles to Crayons Chicago and Philadelphia, Dominican University, IFF, Imagine Englewood If, Goodman Theatre, Mercury Cruises, Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago, Northwestern Buffett Institute for Global Affairs, Primo Center for Women and Children, Uniting Voices Chicago (formerly Chicago’s Children’s Choir). Ramsey is passionate about using the power of storytelling to drive results and digs deep with her clients to uncover stories and uplift voices that often go untold.

She currently serves on Chicago Loop Alliance’s Marketing Steering Committee and the Board of Directors for Steep Theatre, a storefront theater in Edgewater.

Prior joining Public Communications Inc., she was the Media Relations Manager at Goodman Theatre—Chicago’s oldest and largest non-profit theater—where she began her tenure as an intern in fall 2014. She has held previous positions with the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute and City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). Ramsey earned her B.A. in Marketing Communications and Music Business Management from Columbia College Chicago. In 2021, Ramsey was named one of the Publicity Club of Chicago’s 30 under 30 recipients.
